27.04.2023 – Day 1:

Lectures:

  • Being an instructor – what this means and what one should strive to be.
  • All about classes – structure, warm-up, expectations, planning, tools and accessories, goals.
  • The difference between running classes for kids and adults.
  • Teaching children basics of skating – child development stages, how to motivate the kids and how to implement this knowledge during classes.

Practice:

  • Inline skating for beginners – basic exercises and techniques like how to fall safely and get up, skating forwards and backwards, turning, crossovers, barrel stop, grass stop, t-stop.

28.04.2023 – Day 2:

Practice:

  • Techniques of teaching children inline skating basics, taking into consideration exercises and discussion from day 1. Pressure put on ways of teaching through fun and play, plus additional information given on how to create such techniques by yourself and why.

  • Teaching basics of inline skating using freestyle slalom tricks such as fish, snake, cross and speed slalom. How to use these techniques to add variety to beginner level classes.

  • Example lesson of inline skating basics for children.

29.04.2023 – Day 3:

Practice:

  • Urban skating basics: correct posture, riding over bumps and rough surfaces, changing direction of skating from forwards to backwards by turning in both directions, jump onto and obstacle and off it, jump over the pole.

  • Skatepark basics: rolling down the bank, both forwards and backwards, rolling down the quarter, 360 degree spin from forwards and backwards positions on a flat ground, 180 and 360 degree spins on quarter, 180 and 360 degree spins off the bank.

  • Example lessons of freestyle slalom and urban skating skills and techniques for students proficient in basics of skating.

30.04.2023 – Day 4:

Practice:

  • Most common problems in teaching adults and how to overcome them.
